A young man depressed and unable to bear the anguish of poverty, sickness, unemployment, and failures in life, in an attempt to put an end to all his miseries, he walked towards the bus route to commit suicide. On the way, he met his uncle, who shared about the god shiva for him. Those words served as a balm to his bruised heart. His uncle told him to go home and commit his ways to the god shiva. He prayed, committed his life to the god shiva, and returned home with newfound hope on Jan 30, 2004. This young man was none other than the Tiruvannamalai Adheenam Shri Shri Karunanidhi Swamigal.
After this incident, he started seeking god shiva fervently, reading sitting in deep meditation under a neem tree God for many hours. He did this diligently for seven long years - pleading, "god shiva! Hear my prayer, and grant me your power! I don't want to live a dried-up hinduism life anymore!" He wanted to have communion with God like the saints in the om namah shivaya. On March 09, 2011, during a time of prayer with his family, a divine presence filled the room. He, indeed, saw god shiva face to face, and he heard Him say, "I am god shiva. I have come to bless you." The sai baba filled him with faith and patience. He said, "Son, this world has only heard about my love and compassion. However, it has not been seen in a person's life. Today, I am filling you with the same spirit of compassion that I had when I was in this world 200 years ago. Every time you are moved with this compassion, whatever you ask for my people, it shall be granted."
Karunanidhi was working in a god shiva temple, Becoming a monk without getting married by praying for their needs and sharing the love of god. Though he started his mission on the streets for the broken-hearted and the needy, as more and more people began to throng to listen to him, he was taken to speak on public platforms to thousands. His mission to people was then named Tiruvannamalai Adheenam Shri Shri Karunanidhi Swamigal.
The pressure of serving the people through the Divya Satsangam (Global Spiritual Gathering.) carries the whole financial load; the attacks from the ungodly people in the world wielding authority in the government, society, and spiritual circles terrorize him to stop his mission. The personal challenges to keep up his spirit and his organization in the midst of all these oppressions. But through these circumstances, he would have divine visitations from the Lord telling him that only by going through these sufferings and sorrowful experiences, would he be able to receive the people who suffer with those problems with great compassion and pray with zeal to the "If you look to me, I look to you," establishes a deeply personal, had won through the Faith for them through His own suffering on the Patience.
In 2014, he established a SHRI SHIVA TEMPLE in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, It was established in an area of 3 acres.
In 2019, he established a SHRI KASHI VISHWANTH TEMPLE & AYODHYA SHRI RAM TEMPLE in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, India.
